Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Congressional Internship Program

CHCI Interns learn firsthand about how the legislative system works, spending four days each week (Monday-Thursday) working on Capitol Hill. Usually, you are placed with a member of Congress who serves a district in your home state performing meaningful work: responding to constituent inquiries, writing policy briefs, conducting research for legislative aides, attending committee meetings and policy briefings. On Fridays, interns will join their cohorts for a full day of leadership development centered on CHCI’s four Pillars of Leadership—Civic Engagement, Social Responsibility, Self Empowerment, and Promoting Community and Hispanic Culture. During these weekly sessions, your participation in timely discussions of issues facing the Latino community will help you explore a variety of topics that face emerging leaders while building a strong relationships that you can rely on throughout your career.
